Qari sahib was born on the Sunday 26 safar 1348 hijri, 13th August 1928. His name was Shareef Ahmed and father’s name was Hafiz Habib Ahmed Sahab R.A.
He started studying by his grandfather Hafiz Abdur Rehman Sahab R.A. and finished Hifz by Hafiz Abdur Rehman son of Abdur Raheem Sahab who was one of the adopted scholars of Hazrat Maulana Rasheed Ahmed Gangohi R.A. He read tajweed and Qiraat by the famous Imam of Saharanpur Jama Masjid, Qari Abdul Khaliq Sahab R.A. and finished Qiraat in 1942.
In 1363AH (1944) Qari sahib R.A. took admission in Mazahir Uloom Saharanpur where he studied for three years. In 1905 Harat Maulana Rasheed Ahmed Sahib Gangohi R.A. past away and gangoh was left with nothing but a thirst of Islamic Education, it was due to this thirst and Qari Shareef Sahib’s bond with Islamic Education that left him in great concern so in the same year (1944) under the hands of Qari Sahib and with the advice of the scholars of Mazahirul Uloom and Hazrat Maulana sayyad Abdul Lateef Sahib R.A. (Principal of Mazahirul Uloom) Jamia Ashraful Uloom was established.
In 1366AH (1947) Qari Sahib R.A. went to Darul Uloom Deoband and studied there for three years. He graduated in 1949. After graduation he drew his attention towards the progress and development of Ashraful Uloom.
For good education he brought in good hard working teachers, time. It was for this reason that local, national & international students and also students related to Madrasa’s like Darul Uloom and Mazahirul Uloom turned towards Ashraful Uloom. Even today lot students are graduating and serving the community with the grace of ALLAH.
Qari Shareef Sahib R.A. was adored by the scholars of Mazahirul Uloom. He spent a lot of time in the presence of Hazrat Maulana Sayyad Husain Ahmed Madni R.A. and Hazrat maulana Sayyad Abdul Lateef Sahib R.A. The Ulama of Deoband and Saharanpur frequently visited Ashraful Uloom and at times were also called to take students exam.
For quite a period due to his illness he was not able to get out pof bed. After taking medication for some time at 9:30 am on the 24th of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1426AH (4th May 2005AD) at the age of 78 he passed away. His Janazah namaz was led by his son Hazrat Maulana Khalid Saifullah Sahib.
Qari Shareef Sahib R.A. was a sincere servant of Allah for deen an the community. He was always worried about teaching and upbringing the youngster of the community. Qari Sahib R.A. had great experience in making people’s abilities and recognizing the rights of people. H served the Ummat all his life giving people their rights and doing them favors, he had courage, strength, patience, firmness and constancy, he was a an of high thoughts and strong intentions. During his life he came across a lot of hardships ups and downs, he fought against them and Allah gave him success. He had a daily routine of reciting the Quran, Zikr, tahajjud and dua. All these qualities were his key to success. May Allah forgive him, send mercy on him and grant him Jannah.
